The Home & Vehicle Modification Program (HVMP) was established by the Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS) in 1999, and is administered by March of Dimes.
HVMP provides funding for basic home and/or vehicle modifications. By reducing or eliminating life safety risks, these modifications enable children and adults with mobility restrictions to continue living in their homes, avoid job loss, and participate in their communities.
Consumers who meet program criteria can apply for grant funding:
- Up to $15,000 lifetime maximum for home modifications
- Up to $15,000 every ten years for vehicle modifications
HVMP delivers approximately 9 million dollars per fiscal year to meet the needs of people with physical limitations in Ontario.
Applicant Assessment
People seeking funding from the HVMP may complete an Applicant Assessment Form online or may request one via telephone. (See below)
Submission of an Applicant Assessment Form initiates the process of applying to the program. The process is designed to collect consumer information to qualify an Applicant.
Qualified Applicants will be requested to complete a Modification Proposal.
